The Marathon route of Kassel Marathon 2024 is a double loop based on the Half-Marathon route which runs through Kassel.

Participants of the Marathon has to complete the Half-Marathon route twice.

You run through the districts of Waldau, Bettenhausen, Unterneustadt, North (Holland), Rothenditmold, Kirchditmold, Vorderer Westen, Mitte, Süd.

Official timing for all participants will be kept exclusively using the Easy-Chip Transponder System. The timing chip is affixed to the starting number and need not to be returned. The fee for timekeeping is included in your registration fee. Results will be available from Fa. Davengo.

The following scoring classes apply: Men and women, class division in 5-year classes according to IWR from main class onwards.

The Kassel Marathon 2024 is organized according to the international competition regulations (IWR) of DLV under the supervision of Hessischer Leichtathletik-Verband (HLV).

Competition is open for anyone born in 2006 or earlier (Half-Marathon 2008) with the official registration number of the Kassel Marathon 2024. Baby-Joggers and dogs are not permitted. 

Baby joggers take part at their own risk and the organizer assumes no liability. We ask for consideration for other participants.

By submitting the entry, the participants declare:

I have trained adequately to participate in this competition, I am physically fit and my medical condition is confirmed by a doctor. I agree that the data specified in my registration, the photos, film recordings and interviews I took on radio, television, the press, advertising, books, the Internet and social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram may be used and passed on by me without any entitlement to compensation may be. I certify that the year I was born and the running time I have given are correct and that I will not pass my start number on to any other person. I am aware that I will be disqualified if I leave the official route or change my start number in any way, in particular if I make the advertising imprint invisible or unrecognizable, or if I am accompanied by people on sports equipment (inline skates, bicycles, etc.). let In the event of non-attendance, cancellation of the sporting event or interruption due to force majeure, I have no right to a refund of the organization fee. For members of the police there is a separate additional scoring without age group classification in the marathon, half marathon and in the marathon relay. Specifying the departement is required.

As part of the cooperation between the Paderborn Easter Run (March 30, 2024) and the Kassel Marathon (September 15, 2024), the "PaKa Cup" is a joint ranking for starters who take part in both events. The "PaKa Cup" includes the ratings for the runners. Women and men (without AK) are evaluated. The placement results from the addition of the times of both runs. A separate registration is not necessary.

Relays can be formed by anyone. There is a men's, women's and mixed relay classification. The mixed relay consists of two women and two men. A relay with three men and one woman is a men's relay, a relay with three women and one man is considered a mixed relay. It is run on the original marathon route. The route lengths of the individual sections are around 10 km. Subject to change. The relay runners hand over a baton in which the EasyChip is integrated. Transport to the exchange points and back is by bus. Departures from 9.15 a.m. (note the schedule!) in front of the Auestadion.

The route is 4.219 km and is reserved exclusively for schoolchildren (born in 2015 or later) and young people (born in 2005 or later). For the students there is a yearly rating and a ten-team rating. The following vintages can form teams: 2015/2014/2013 – 12/11 – 10/09 – 08/07 – 06/05. Award ceremony at the Auestadion.

Bambini run presented by Raiffeisen Waren GmbH and Zahnspangenliebe

The route is about 420 meters long and is reserved for children from 2 to 6 years. The start is on Menzelstraße and the finish is in front of the Auepark sports hall. There is no time measurement. The start is free and at the finish all participants receive a medal and Surprise. Registration takes place via collective registration via the respective kindergarten. The start numbers and certificates will be sent by post shortly before the event.

Walking (Nordic Walking) takes place as a separate event over approx. 8 km in the Auepark area. There is an overall list entry without competition character.

All persons registered by online registration deadline will receive an automated registration confirmation with their start number. This registration confirmation must be presented when the start number is issued.

Starting documents are issued, late registrations or changes of registration (additional fee 10.00 €) are possible at registration counter in front of Auestadium on September 13th, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 7.00 p.m and on September 14th, 2024. possible from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. On September 15th, 2024 Late registrations for marathon, half marathon, marathon relay and power walking are possible from 7.30 a.m.

The organizational fee for the Kassel Marathon includes the following services: Start number with EasyChip, time recording, finisher medal, pasta party (non-participants €5.00), supplies every 2.5 km (from km 5), finish supplies, certificate and list of results on the Internet, marathon magazine, massage, marathon bag , free MarathonExpo, clothes storage, route closure, bus transfer to the exchange points, preparatory run.

The finishers get a free massage in the Auestadion by REHAmedSystem Seifert.

By the German Red Cross. The doctors deployed are authorized and obliged to take participants with signs of injury or overexertion out of the run. Important: Stay in the running track area, this is the only way to quickly provide first aid.

The MarathonExpo takes place as part of the Kassel Marathon, it offers a high quality of exhibitors, many activities and a colorful supporting program.
